TIVERTON, ON – September 9, 2013 – In celebration of Lake Huron Fishing Club’s 30th anniversary, Bruce Power donated $30,000 as part of a three-year commitment to the club.
“Bruce Power and the Lake Huron Fishing Club share a common view in respect to our role with the environment,” said Francis Chua, Bruce Power’s Department Manager, Environment & Sustainability. “The club’s current initiatives align with Bruce Power’s environmental stewardship objectives in conservation, preservation, education and awareness.”
The $30,000 donation will support club initiatives which include mini hatcheries set up in local schools, its stream improvement and rehabilitation program, tree planting, fish stocking and resources for volunteers.
“It is a privilege to form this partnership with Bruce Power,” said Michael Hahn, Vice-President, Lake Huron Fishing Club. “This partnership will allow us to expand our programs and share best practices for the environment and other sustainability programs.”
The Lake Huron Fishing Club is a volunteer-run organization that was incorporated in 1983. The Lake Huron Fishing Club undertakes and supervises a wide variety of conservation-related projects.
